Upcoming Author Study: Patricia Polacco

Our class will begin to use Polacco's work to apply reading strategies and improve writing skills. Polacco has written many books that we will enjoy! Polacco writes humorous, inspiring, and thought-provoking stories. She also has a PhD in Art History and illustrates all of her books. Many educators recommend incorporating an author study using her books for 4th graders who can truly grasp the content and learn from the adventures in her work.

Looking at snowflake designs!

"Under a microscope, I found that snowflakes were miracles of beauty; and it seemed a shame that this beauty should not be seen and appreciated by others. Every crystal was a masterpiece of design and no design was ever repeated. When that snowflake melted, that design was forever lost. Just that much beauty was gone, without leaving any record behind."
