Observing the Properties of Water: Water Dome Races

We made water drops (domes) of varying sizes today. Then we watched to see which size water dome would travel the fastest down the slope. We concluded that the larger the dome of water, the faster it traveled. Good times...water, slope, gravity!

The Top Earning Class!

During the month of October, the students at Rose Acres were given four-star tickets when they showed cooperation. At the end of the month, we were the class who received the most tickets! Woo Hoo! We earned a popcorn party!

Missouri Day!

On March 22, 1915, the 48th General Assembly set aside the third Wednesday in October each year as Missouri Day. Missouri Day is a time for schools to honor the state and for the people of the state to celebrate the achievements of all Missourians.

We made a colossal cookie cake to celebrate. All of the regions of Missouri were labeled on the cookie. The blue area was the Glacial Plains. Did you know, long ago, this land was flattened by a glacier? The yellow portion was the Osage Plains, the red section was the Ozark Highlands, and the green part was the Mississippi Lowlands.

We had a sweet time learning about our great state today!
